I am a passionate advocate for innovation and economic growth and view venture capital as a driver of macroeconomic growth and improved quality of life. Over the years, I’ve built programs and initiatives to support startups, drawing on extensive experience as an investor and advisor. Through my work with venture capital and angel groups, I’ve collaborated with hundreds of founders, helping them navigate the challenges of building successful businesses.
My career includes designing and implementing comprehensive mentor, education, and accelerator programs at Kinect Capital (formerly VentureCapital.Org, Wayne Brown Institute), where I assisted startups close several million in seed funding. I revamped its KPIs to realign the organizational goals with foundation funding, ensuring its sustainability and impact in a rapidly changing environment.
I’ve also started and managed angel investment groups (Park City and SLC Angels), bridging the gap between early-stage companies and capital, while providing founders with access to strategic mentorship and resources. My expertise extends beyond program development, encompassing operational excellence, transparency in reporting, investment strategy, and business advisory roles.
Most recently, I launched the Senatus Fund, an early-stage venture fund focused on investing in startups with diverse teams. Research consistently shows that diverse teams deliver substantially greater returns, driven by broader perspectives, enhanced problem-solving capabilities, and more effective implementation of solutions. As a generalist fund, Senatus seeks exceptional companies with strong teams, significant market potential, straightforward business models, and meaningful traction.
I am the Founder of Acodei, an accounting app that syncs data from Stripe into QuickBooks.
I launched Acodei in 2020 after identifying a gap in the market and building it for my previous venture, Coder Kids, which I sold in 2022. With over 15,000 users and great reviews, Acodei saves accountants and small business owners thousands of hours.
