Yelena Cavanaugh is the Chief Legal Officer at Solana Foundation, where she oversees legal, regulatory, and policy matters. She leverages her extensive legal expertise to support the development and growth of Solana as permissionless, digital infrastructure — a single global marketplace for every tradeable asset that operates at the scale of the internet. With over a decade of experience in corporate law and litigation, Yelena previously practiced at Cooley LLP, Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, and Kobre & Kim LLP. She served as a law clerk to the Honorable Gonzalo P. Curiel in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Yelena holds a J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. She serves on the Board of the Solana Policy Institute and the Independent School Alliance, the leading access organization for under-resourced communities in Los Angeles independent school admissions. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, skiing, tennis, and adventures with her kids and husband.
