I have graduated from BYU with my Master's in Math and with my undergrad in Applied Math. My skills set includes Computer Science, Math, and Statistics. I have done Research in Data Analytics, and have had my project "Optimizing the Search to Find the Best Pizza in Provo" featured on the FOX 13 news. I was also a graduate teaching assistant for an Intro to Proofs and a graduate linear numerical analysis class. I have had 18 months as a full-time volunteer representative where I listened to and counseled others experiencing discrimination, poverty, addiction, and marital or familial issues. Christina Qi is the Co-Founder and CEO of Databento. Databento launched 1.5 years ago, has $40M in funding, and is the data API backbone of over 8,000 companies today. She formerly founded Domeyard LP, a hedge fund focused on HFT that traded up to $7.1 billion USD per day. Failing to earn a job offer after a Wall Street internship, Christina started Domeyard from her dorm room with $1000 in savings, in 2012. Her fund was a tiny minnow amongst the tigers of the hedge fund world, but after Michael Lewis’s Flash Boys came out in 2014 and HFT firms hid from the spotlight, Domeyard accidentally found itself in the center of the ring. Over the next decade, her company’s story was featured on the front page of Forbes and Nikkei, and quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, CNN, NBC, and the Financial Times as a result of the controversy and fascination with HFT. By a series of accidents, Christina became a voice in her industry, contributing to the World Economic Forum’s research on AI in finance and teaching Domeyard’s case study at Harvard Business School. She is grateful to be able to open up about her mistakes, and to help people turn failures into opportunities.
Christina is a member of the MIT Corporation Development Committee, a standing committee of the MIT Corporation (the board of trustees). She was Co-Chair of the Board of Invest in Girls, bringing financial literacy education to underserved populations across the US. Christina also sits on the Board of Directors of The Financial Executives Alliance (FEA) Hedge Fund Group, drove entrepreneurship efforts at the MIT Sloan Boston Alumni Association, and served on the U.S. Non-Profit Boards Committee of 100 Women in Finance. Although "X Under X" lists are a gimmick, she’ll admit that Forbes 30 Under 30 made a positive impact on her life by giving her a community - friends who dragged her out of bed during the lowest days of her life. Christina earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from MIT in 2013 and earned her CAIA designation in 2015.
My time in management and team leadership has been defined by my determination to improve the operations of the IT department by both lowering costs and preventing existing costs from rising, and by both preventing our in-store sales from declining as well as creating and facilitating opportunities for new revenue streams. These profit- and operation-oriented goals are balanced with my determination to coach and advance my team members to their full potential and achieve their career goals. Some of my proudest management achievements have been taking inexperienced techs and guiding them to higher roles and seeing them flourish.
Personally, I’m a highly driven individual, always looking for the next challenge or opportunity. I have, for instance:
- Worked full time while going to school full time to get my undergrad from Weber State University while also training for and completing a marathon.
- Worked overtime every week for over five years so my wife could fulfill her dream to retire from her job and stay at home with the kids.
- Studied for and passed the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam while traveling around the country executing the biggest project of my career.
- Spent 15 months training for and finishing the 2020 Ironman Panama City Florida Triathlon.
- Studied for and passed the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification while training for and completing the 2022 Ironman 70.3 Coeur d’Alene triathlon just 5 days prior.
- Self-financed my return to school in the Executive MBA program at the University of Utah, graduating in May of 2024.

We are all very well connected to the online world, but what about the world around us? We get information from podcasts, TV, radio and Pitch Decks. When we want more information, we have to stop and type in websites, phone numbers or addresses which isn't always easy. We can scan QR Codes on presentations or TV, but they're often gone before we can get to our camera.
What if we could turn that picture QR code into an Audio QR code and let the phone listen in the background and automatically save that information. That way people could get the information they want, when they want it, and media creators could instantly connect to their audience.
We have created and patented Audio QR codes. We have Audio QR code apps for media consumers, and SAAS that allows media creators to make their own Audio QR codes to use across all broadcast and streaming media. They even work with PowerPoint.
